What's ELS27 for Ford?

ELS27 for Ford Supported Vehicles:

All Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, Mercury vehicles that can be addressed by Forscan Pro USB adapters.
It is 99% of models after year 2000 and around 92% of models after 1996 (the year when OBDII became a standard in USA).

OBDII Compliant

If you are not sure, look under the hood and try to locate a label that explicitly states that the vehicle was designed to comply with OBDII legislation.

In this case, OBDII is used as a general term and can mean any of the following:

OBDII (California)
EOBD (European)
JOBD (Japanese)

If the vehicle is not OBDII compliant, you cannot use this ELS27 OBDII scan tool to obtain information from your vehicle.

FORScan Software Support :

FORScan can detect modules which are not visible for regular OBD2 scanners, can show you trouble codes which are never displayed by OBD2 scanners, can show you PIDs which are not supported by any OBD2 scanner, run specific tests and service procedures.
In other words, FORScan can do things that regular OBD2 scanners can not do.

How To Use:

1.Right-click CH341SER.EXE, choose " Run as administrator" , install the USB Driver.
2.Right-click "FORScan", choose " Run as Administrator", install FORScan
3.Connect the ELS27 diagnostic scanner to car and laptop, turn on the ignition of the car. Double click the forscan icon from desktop to run.
4. Connect the ELS27 diagnostic scanner to car and laptop, turn on the ignition of the car. Double click the FORScan icon from desktop to run. Then click the connection icon as showed in the follow picture.

Follow is Important settings (Make this settings before working with car)

Questions & Answers:

Q: What is Extended License, why and when do I need it?
A: Extended License provides access to Configuration and Programming functions of FORScan, and also few Service functions (such as PATS programming). Base FORScan functionality (connection, retrieving vehicle information, reading parameters, read and reset trouble codes, run tests and service functions etc) do NOT require Extended License. There is a free 2 month Extended License that can be issued for anyone who has account on forscan official forum. Also there are paid longterm and lifelong licenses. More information about Extended License can be found on forscan official store.

Q: Why FORScan doesn't show function Y for my car? When this function will be added?
A: Functions may be very different for different models and especially different generations of models and different brands. For example, at this moment there are 50+ known versions of ABS bleed procedure for Ford models, only 10+ are implemented in FORScan.
We do not add functions just for fun, as number of functions is huge because of multiple versions. So we add functions by requests. More requests from users for a function - more chance for this function to be added in the near future.

Q: How can I get Extended License after trial period?
A: At this moment only 2 months free Extended License is available. When it is expired, you will be able to issue another 2 months one, also for free. Or you can buy long term (1, 3, 5 years) or lifelong Extended License.

Problem 1: The laptop no connection with ELS27.

Solution:
Step1: Please check is the USB Driver installed : Right-click " My computer" ,"Device Manager" , Ports (COM & LPT) shows "CH340" , if doesn't see CH340, please reinstall the USB driver.

Step2: If the USB driver was installed, please check the USB Connection and OBDII Connection, make sure well connections.

Problem 2: No connection with the vehicle , if you are using Win10 system

Solution:
Step1: Right -click the FORScan icon on desktop, Choose " Properties" , Choose "Compatibility", Choo" Windows7 " , then save.

Step2: Right-click FORScan icon, choose " Run as administrator" , connect the cable to car and laptop, put ignition on to test.

Problem 3: this ELS27 will not recognize my IPC module on my 2018 F 150 I have tried to access with the MS CAN switch but it does not recognize it . Other Modules OK.

Solution:
The new version of FORScan does not support IPC modules, please download and install FORScan 2.3.17 for use.
